In the immediate vicinity is the city, shopping facilities, as well as a bakery, a pizzeria, a gas station, an outdoor and indoor pool, a sports and event hall. Furthermore, there are numerous hiking and cycling trails in the vicinity.

The city of Hermeskeil has a very good connection to the motorway, from where you can drive very quickly via the A1 to nearby Saarbrücken, or to Trier, as well as to Luxembourg. The bus connection is also very good to use with hourly trips from Türkismühle to Trier.
